PHARMACEUTICAL company Pfizer has invested US$100 million (S$138m) to expand its Singapore Nutrition Plant, making it one of the largest worldwide.
The expansion of the plant to 91,963 sq m (about 17 football fields) will raise the facility’s production capacity by 50 per cent. The expansion brings Pfizer’s total investment in the plant to US$372 million.
The plant, which now contributes over 20 per cent of demand for infant nutrition worldwide, will allow Pifzer to milk the potential in Asian markets. It has hired another 100 staff, bringing the total headcount to 587.
