Sentosa Nature Walk cum Yoghurt Making Class

  NPC Event

“Exercise, Eat Right and Be Happy” is the theme for NPC support group’s fringe activities for this year. The Revival Connection (TRC) was invited to join them in the Sentosa Nature Walk cum Yoghurt Making Class. A total of 17 members and family from both support groups gathered at Vivo City at 9 am on 13 March 2010, Saturday. Some of us met for the first time, but we became good friends in no time.

Much to the surprise of many in the group who have not stepped into Sentosa for many moons, the place has been greatly transformed. Our first stop was a picture-taking session at the Merlion waterfall at Imbiah monorail station. Two gentlemen volunteered to be the photographers and there you can see all our smiles in the photos.

We embarked on a one hour nature walk that brought us to some scenic spots all the way to Palawan Beach. We took a break at the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom. The fresh air and tranquility captured our hearts. The toilet, in its natural setting, is an attraction itself! We continued on the elevated boardwalk into Imbiah forest. Many trees and fruits along the nature trail are in fact our childhood acquaintance, such as the ba-lu-ku, the “cherries”, and nangka fruits on the trees!

The forest trail led us to Siloso Beach. The sand was soft, and good to walk on.

At Palawan Beach, lunch was a sumptuous meal of Northern Indian food at a friend’s restaurant. Amidst the fun and laughter around the dining table, new friends were made and old relationship was re-established. Sitting alfresco enjoying the sea breeze and the sea view has a therapeutic effect on the mind and body.

The highlight of the day was a yoghurt-making demonstration (using organic milk) by the owner of the restaurant. Members went home revitalized with a pack of yoghurt. It was easy and we were all eager to try out after that.

The weather was so kind to us. It was not so sunny in the morning. It rained when we had lunch in the restaurant and stopped just in time for us to get home. What a blessed day!

It was indeed a Saturday fruitfully spent where we Exercise, learned to Eat Right and definitely returned home with Happy memories of the day.
