I was a NPC patient. It's been 2 yrs since my treatment. I have a question regarding my bone scan result I collected last week. What does it mean by "There is mild, degenerative pattern of tracer uptake in the knees"? I've been running regularly but lately I had some problems with my knees. Should I continue or should I stop? Thanks.

Hi Morningglory.  It is good to hear from you again after some time.  My apologies for this late response.

I am a fellow npc survivor and from my own limited experience I believe your report suggest that there are some degeneration of bone mass in the knee, which could explain why you are having some problems there.  I believe it has nothing to do with cancer.

It would be good to ask your doctor for a definitive answer at the next appointment and what else you can do to manage the degeneration.  You can also post your question to the "Ask the Specialist" column in this website for a faster response.
