I started to work out about 1.5 year ago and about 6 months into it, I found my right neck stiffening. It lead to me losing my right shoulder muscle. I meant it literally - my right shoulder droop.
I am curious to know if anyone else experiences the 2 effects I did.
Thank you,

Sharing my own experience, there were some occasions when my neck stiffens. It feels very stiff and painful whenever I try to turn. But I have found a few ways to manage the stiffness, which I am sharing:-
1) I force turn slowly my stiff neck as much as I can bear and hold the position. After a while I notice that the stiffness loosen. I then repeat the force turn again until the stiffness is released. It has worked a couple of times for me and my muscles go back to normal.
2) On one particular occasion when the stiffness was bad, the force turning made it worse and painful. I found that panadol tablets are able to help lessen the pain within 30 minutes of ingestion and the stiffness gets well over the next 2 to 3 days.
3) Finally, I have a charcoal pillow which I sleep on every night. Without fail for me, any stiffness in my neck is made better the next day. It works for me. Hopefully it does for you as well. Give it a try.
All failing, you may wish to seek help from the physiotherapists. I understand that once the stiffness is allowed to set in for a long period, it would be much harder to reverse it.
