Completed CT and RT 8 weeks ago. Have been having a blocked nose for past 5 weeks. Can hardly breath when lying down on bed. Wash my nose with saline water but doesn't help. Seen a TCM doctor which says that it will be fixed when the body "qi" has fully recovered. ENT doctor has just prescribed steroid spray which I wasn't sure it was going to be long term and if there is any problem caused to my nose  to be on steoid liquid for long.

Anyone can offer advise of curing or fixing it?

It is likely caused by phelgm and mucus build up and even crusting to the point that it is blocking your breathing

After RT treatment, we will need to flush our nose at least twice daily to flush out the phelgm and mucus build up.  I would use a combination of sea salt and sodium bicarbonate for a stronger dosage.  You can buy the sea salt from the usual supermarket outlets like NTUC etc for 45 cents a packet.  Sodium bicarbonate could be obtained with a prescription from the ENT or Radiation Oncologist for $1.00 each.

A good dose of the sea salt/sodium bicarbonate combination would be adequate to flush out whatever phelgm and mucus that is stuck in the nose.  Do give it a try.  If it still does not work, please call my mobile 96317887 and I will be glad to come by to take a look at you and do a demo and see if there is anything else I can do to facilitate.
