Aim for Peak Health Performance

We make smart decisions in the office and call the shots at home, so there’s no reason for our health to take a backseat. Let’s aim for peak performance by keeping tabs on our health with regular screenings. 

Setting your Health Targets

Every woman should track her:

   - Body Mass Index (BMI)

   - Blood glucose level

   - Cholesterol level

   - Blood pressure

   - Medicine allergies

   - Family history of illness

All Women from 20s

Breast  Monthly self breast examination
Cervical  For women who have ever had sex: Pap smear once every 3 years, after 2 initial annual screenings that are negative
Weight Measure Body Mass Index (BMI) yearly
Fertility Check for rubella and other signs if unable to conceive after 2 years
Eye Check annually if you have myopia
Liver Ÿ Hepatitis-B (Hep-B) screening and immunization for those with family history of Hep-B
      infection or liver cancer.

Ÿ For those with chronic Hep-B and C: 6-monthly Alpha-feto protein test

Ÿ For those with liver cirrhosis: yearly ultrasound examination

Extra Attention! Women from 40s

 Breast Ÿ Monthly self breast examination

Ÿ Yearly clinical breast examination by doctor

Ÿ Yearly mammograms for women 40-49 years old; once every 2 years for women 50
      years old and above

Heart  Yearly check-up of blood pressure and once in 3 years for cholesterol if first screening is normal
Eye Check annually for myopia and glaucoma 
Kidney Every three years if first screening is normal
Colorectal

For women over 50

  • Yearly Faecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT)
  • Sigmoidoscopy once every 5 years
  • Colonoscopy once every 10 years
  • Barium Enema once every 5-10 years.
For women with family history of  colorector cancer or polyps, screening should start by age 45 
Bone  Bone mineral densitometry (BMD) checks annually
